Versatile in application. Fluid in approach. Unwavering in spirit.

At MĀKI, we go beyond providing services. We create end-to-end solutions that help organisations solve complex challenges in water monitoring, surveying, and asset management. Our solutions are built around autonomous surface vessels (USVs), remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), drones, and IoT sensor systems, all designed to operate in challenging environments with precision and reliability.

Whether it's developing custom water sampling platforms, integrating sonar and vision systems for underwater inspection, or designing bespoke monitoring frames for long-term environmental data collection, we tailor each solution to meet the specific needs of our clients. By combing engineering expertise with cutting -edge technology, we deliver cost-effective, adaptive, and practical tools that improve safety, reduce manual effort, and provide actionable insights.

Our solutions are developed in close collaboration with industry partners, councils, and researchers, ensuring they are not only technically advanced but also fit for purpose in New Zealand's unique conditions. From one-off prototypes to fully integrated systems, we work with you to design and deploy technology that makes water management and environmental protection smarter, faster and more efficient.

– Autonomous detection and monitoring

We develop intelligent software and AI camera systems that automate environmental and ecological monitoring. Our customised solutions use on-board AI to detect and classify animals such as wallabies on land or fish underwater, even in remote areas with limited power and connectivity. Each system operates autonomously, transmitting detections to secure cloud platforms for analysis and visualisation. This allows clients to monitor activity in real time, assess trends, and improve decision-making for biosecurity, research, and ecosystem management.
